In college, you can go to any member of staff for support about any topic.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Many of our staff are Youth Mental Health First Aiders.

LIVE Team

The LIVE Team can support you with issues such as stopping smoking, or information and support about alcohol and drugs.

They can provide you with sexual health advice, and can support you to find services that may suit your needs.

Learner Mentor

Your Learner Mentor can support you with academic and personal issues you go through.

Their aim is to support you to manage barriers you face in order to achieve the best that you can.

You will see them for regular 1-1 support throughout your college experience, where you will make SMART goals to help you to develop and succeed.

Student Services

Our Student Services Teams can provide excellent careers advice for your next steps.

They can also provide financial support for bursaries etc.

Counselling Team

Our Counselling Team offer a safe and confidential space, where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. You can self-refer, or ask a member of staff to refer you.

Once processed, you will meet with a counsellor to do an initial assessment, and then may be paired with a counsellor who will support you.

If you are a Child in Care or a Care leaver, we have specific support.

College Support Groups

Our LIVE Teams support student-run support and interest groups, who meet regularly throughout the academic year.

Sexual Health Support

At the Bedford College Group, we provide free pregnancy tests, condoms and STI testing for Chlamydia.

If you require emergency contraception, you can book an appointment with your GP, to a local sexual health clinic or see a list of pharmacies offering free emergency contraception.

Sanitary Products

LIVE Team and Student Services provide free sanitary products, including sustainable options such as mooncups, for all students.
