Support and advice

At Bedford College we place great importance on the wellbeing of all our students, so throughout your time with us you’ll have everything you need to make sure you can concentrate on your studies without any worries. Whether you need financial assistance, careers advice, learning support or anything else, we’ll be here for you.

Academic support

During your time with us you’ll have access to our award-winning Student Services team, who’ll be on hand whenever you need help with issues related to your studies. You’ll also benefit from your own personal tutor, who can offer you one-to-one support throughout your course and make sure you keep on track with your studies.

Our team of counsellors are also here to help with problems that may get in the way of your studies, such as alcohol or drug problems, depression, bullying, relationships or stress. You can get in touch with the team by calling our confidential helpline on 01234 291911.

Careers advice

Our careers team can provide you with impartial, confidential advice and guidance to help you plan your future, including:

  • Information about your options for education, training and employment after you’ve finished your course
  • Help planning your next steps
  • Assistance with applying for jobs, completing application forms and preparing for interview.

You can arrange a meeting with one of our advisers at any time during your studies, and even before your course begins – visit www.bedford.ac.uk/careers to find out more.

Wellbeing

We work hard to make sure that all our students are able to achieve their goals no matter what their individual learning needs may be, so if you need a little extra help in your lessons then our fantastic additional support team will be here for you. They’ll be able to provide specialist equipment, help with your assignments and give individual support to those with dyslexia, hearing or visual impairment.
